We’ve shown you how to discover what you want to do and how to develop a great business plan to move your Freelance career into action, rather than just letting it fester in your mind as a daily daydream. You’ve also learned where to get precious money to start your project, even if it is with none whatsoever. So, no excuses. Today is your first day in business.
Congratulations and welcome to the life of the independent contractor. It can be one of great satisfaction, relying on only yourself to build your way to wealth and financial freedom. This is more about personal freedom than about monetary gains. Yet, you can have both.
There will be trying times and days of loneliness as you sit in frantic wonder of the business you are creating. It is not just a business; this Freelance enterprise is a reflection of you. You will learn much as you go along that no book can teach you. You’ll be forced to make quick-witted decisions at the drop of a dime. There will be ups and downs.
According to a study by famous TV personality Dr. Joyce Brothers, the one consistent trait that is shared by all highly successful people is persistence. Persistent people are willing to spend more time completing an assignment and to push through difficulties when up against the odds. It’s a positive connection between people’s capability to accomplish any task versus the time they are willing to spend doing it. No matter what happens, if you believe in your ability to be a Freelance anything, then you must persevere when times are tough. Calling it quits is not an option. If things are not working out, then reassess your talents, services or products and adjust the business plan to make it work.
